Our Favorite Diptyque Candle Fragrances

Diptyque is an upscale fragrance company that has been producing candles, personal care items & perfumes since 1961. Over the past 50 years, their scented candles have become legendary, feauted in many magazines & television programs. They’ve also been used in some of the best spas around the world.

Diptyque candles are commonly sold in two sizes and are a bit on the pricey side.  Their mini jar candle burns for up to 30 hours and retails for $34.  The standard size jar candle burns for up to 60 hours and retails for $64.

Diptyque Baies Candle

Diptyque-Baies-CandleOne of the most popular Diptyque scents is their “Baies” candle. Some people goes as far as to say that the Baies candle is the “go-to” scent from Diptyque. This candle features an intriguing blend of black currant and roses. The two notes play off each other very nicely, producing a gorgeous fruity & floral fragrance. Baies is an incredibly feminine, beautiful scent and a great choice for spring or early summer.

Diptyque Feu de Bois Candle

Diptyque-Feu-De-Bois-Candle-reviewThe Feu de Bois candle is the second most popular scent in Diptyque’s lineup of home fragrances. This scent has made numerous “best candle lists” including Elle.com’s “Best Winter Candles” and BroStick.com’s “11 Best Scented Candles”. This candle is certainly one of the best “campfire” scented candles on the market. It has a soft wood aroma that is very relaxing and not at all perfumey. The fragrance will transport you to a warm fire in a log cabin on a cold, snowy morning.

Diptyque Figuier Candle

Diptyque-Figuier-Candle-reviewWhile not as popular as the first two Diptyque fragrances, my personal favorite is the Figuier scent. This candle has notes of fig – both the fruit and the fig tree itself. It’s a very earthly & calming scent, without being to overpowering. There is also a bit of creaminess on the back end of this scent which adds an additional layer of complexity to this candle. I feel it’s the best all around scent from Diptyque.

Diptyque Pomander Candle

Diptyque-Pomander-Candle-ReviewWhile not a candle I would burn year round, the Diptyque Pomander candle is a great choice during the fall & winter months. This scent combines spicy notes such as cloves & cinnamon with a touch of citrus. It’s a little to heavy on the spices to be burned during the spring and summer, but would be ideal during the holidays. The scent throw on this one is very strong and even kicks off a light scent when not lit.

Diptyque Ambre Candle

Diptyque-Ambre-Candle-ReviewIf you’re looking for a more earthy fragrance or a candle that a man would like, look no further than the Diptyque Ambre candle. This candle was named to GQ.com’s “Best Candles for Men to Own” list released in 2014. Ambre is a rich scent, with prominent notes of vetiver, patchouli, incense & tonka bean. Another Diptyque candle with a very strong scent throw, probably a 9 out of 10.

Diptyque Tuberuse Candle

Diptyque-Tuberuse-Candle-Review-1Diptyque has a lot of strong, earthy scents in their fragrance lineup, but if you are looking for something lighter & more floral, we recommend the Tuberuse candle. The Tuberuse candle features smooth, sultry, true-to-life notes of Tuberose, a plant similar to Jasmine, whose extracts are used in many perfumes. Diptyque’s Gardenia & Jasmine scented candle are also solid choices for light, floral candles, but the Tuberuse is better in our opinion.
